120/365 - Oliver!

April 30, 2011 

This is the resident Cockatoo (Oliver) at the Neuseway Nature Center in Kinston. We went there for the Derby picnic Saturday, took Jerry, had a great time with the girls, exploring all the different areas of the nature center. It was a nice day... but also sad because we had to take Jerry home that night. :(

We took Jerry out to eat at Texas Steakhouse Friday night. He loves steak and ate an entire 7oz sirloin and a side of fries all by himself! We were very impressed. 

118/365 - easter is still going on over here!

We FINALLY got around to decorating our Easter Eggs on Thursday night. What can I say, it's been a busy week!

Jerry wasn't too interested in helping... he was too busy playing Indiana Jones. (He calls him G.I. Jones)

This was a cool "camo" egg coloring kit which called for adding oil to the colors. It was pretty amazing.

They came out looking similar to this.

I got a little behind on my pictures during Jerry week, mostly because I was busy spending time with Jerry. Lots of photos were taken everyday, but they're a little unorganized and ... woops. I believe we may have rode by to see Sylvia this particular night, but I can't be 100% sure.

111/365 - blah day.

Thursday I was supposed to have practice in Kinston, but I was... exhausted, sore, beat, cranky, on the rag, and just having an absolutely terrible day. Usually derby practice would cheer me up or make me feel better, but Kinston practices are some of the hardest, and the last thing I needed was to go and have a bad practice or be yelled at when I was feeling so low. I hope that's understandable.
Also, I still hadn't finished cleaning the house and I had to go pick Jerry up Saturday... so I took a "me" night. I don't really get those, so...

I took a nap.

Finally cleaned the office. This is where Jerry will be staying when he's with us. This used to be the "catch all" room so it was totally crazy junky because I never really went in there unless I needed to put something out of site. How sad, considering this is also supposed to be my "studio".... sadness.

I've tried everything from online calendars to schedule/organizers in my phone, tried syncing them, keeping a small planner in my purse (never can keep it updated) on and on... the only thing that really works for me is a great, big, huge calendar that stays on my kitchen table, visible all the time. I can kind of commit important things on it to memory. Every year I buy a little pocket planner only for it to be empty by March or April. What a fail.

Aw. Bittersweet. One of our infant room teachers is moving back to Arizona to get married next month, and Friday was her last day at the daycare. We threw her a little goodbye/bridal party, enjoyed some down time during naptime, and a good meal. Thanks to my big ole bucket of KFC. Ooh yeah.

Good luck & Congratulations Dani! We'll miss you! 

104/365 - Earl & Jim Bob Jeffy Bob Joe Bob Frank

Today's photo of the day is coming in the form of a series. ;) In our after school class at our daycare, we are focusing on frogs this month. With the weather warming up, of course they were on our playground, so Adrienne let the kids catch a couple for us to take care of for a week before letting them go (or accidentally killing them). Here is our picture journey.

Here is our little frog. He was named "Jim Bob Jeffy Bob Joe Bob Frank"... I think.
