We took a field trip to the new History Center downtown and it was pretty awesome! 

The kids got to make a digital quilt, which was pretty neat.

Wednesday night we went over to Sylvia's and ordered some pizza. Jerry scraped all of the toppings off of his and literally just ate bread, but I guess it's better than nothing. Haha.

Took pictures of the crazy ash sky tonight. After the sky was oragen for a while, there was a huge dark smoke cloud that made it darker much earlier than it was supposed to be, and then tiny pieces of ash started to fall from the sky.

Took Jerry to the beach. :) He wasn't a big fan of the waves, but once we took him to Radio Island where there wasn't really any waves, he had a much better time. Good day.

Haha. On our water day Friday, the kids dumped a bucket of water on Adrienne. I escaped by using my camera as a shield, threatening them with having to buy me new electronics should they get a drop of water on mine. Worked like a charm!

Our field trip to the Crash/Fire/Rescue demonstration was cancelled due to the smokey air quality we've been experiencing lately, so I did a little bit of fun face painting with the kids. The theme was African animals, but I did a couple of zombies, camo faces and a monkey that looked more like a puppy. Woops.

Haha, this picture is ridiculous. I was trying out an HDR app on my phone and it takes 3 quick shots to mimic the effects of an HDR photo. Well, obviously Todd moved and ruined (improved?) the photo.

This was Sunday, on our way to or from the Newport Flea Mall where I scored all kinds of neat cheap goodies... mostly earrings. But I also got an African painting for $1 for the class,a deck of cards in a protective case for my kids, a vintage Strawberry Shortcake lunchbox with the thermos still inside! We got Jerry a bunch of of classic kids books! One being 'The Three Billy Goats Gruff' which I remember from childhood. Hehe.

Jerry comes this Saturday, the 25th on his birthday, and will be staying with us for a while! I'm so excited! We're gonna have a blast.

Well, today was something! It was fun, yes, but the heat was... amazing. Unbearable, even. I nearly had a heat stroke, but that's another story. Anyway, my team (which was just our big team divided into two teams) won! But it was a fun day, I learned a lot, feel like I played pretty well and can't wait to do it again!

Todd's birthday was the 8th and I believe Jon's was the 4th, so we were finally able to all get together for a nice cookout. :) It was yummy and fun.

I somehow didn't get a picture of Jennifer and have more of others guests. :)

No, sorry, I know you wanted to see a picture of me with a hangover or something. Actually, Adrienne and I just went to see Hangover 2 tonight and I thought it was HIGHlarious and she said it was "alright". Anway, I laughed my ass off!

I also bought this book (above) the other day. I thought it looked good and it was on sale and then I got home and realized I'd purchased a stupid young adult/teen novel. le sigh. I'm about 2 chapters in. ;)

 So, Zombie Prom was a blast. Todd and I were the "official" photographers of the evening, and it was amazing! Here you can see most of my backdrop. It was an awesome night! (Except for when I got overheated because my dress didn't breath, plus my tank top and shorts underneath and I almost passed out. Yeahhh, that's just me.)

I had teased my hair up real big and crazy, but it fell out. :(

had our book club meeting tonight to discuss "water for elephants". we had cotton candy, funnel cakes, sausages, and spiked lemonade! :) it was yummy. then i had to come home and finish my painting/backdrop for zombie prom!

Behind.

Yes, I'm very behind. Life has been extremely busy lately. A lot of traveling, we shot a wedding last weekend, visiting with family, and lots of other stuff... derby practice, work, and trying to paint the backdrop for the photos we're taking at this weekend's Zombie Prom! I'm a little overwhelmed, to be honest. But I've been keeping track of my photos, what I'm missing, etc, and once I actually can sit down, transfer photos off the camera and do a crap-ton of editing, we'll be back up to date. I've made it entirely too far to give up now! :)

But I'm really tired... and it's catching up with me. Also, we've been so busy that we haven't had time to go grocery shopping and I'm slowly starving to death.
