Unfortunately

I have not already abandoned my blog 3 days in, I promise.
I have actually come down with a terrible stomach virus and haven't eaten in a few days. I'm almost too weak to type this. I took yesterday's picture (will post) and am about to take today's.
I just hope this ends soon. I can't take any more.

Okay, enough with the pictures of Gatorade and fluids. Sorry. This has been one of the worst starts to a year ever, not counting 2 years ago when I had gallbladder surgery go terribly wrong... but we haven't actually hit that anniversary yet, so doesn't count. ;)

Not seeing eye-to-eye with the management at work lately. Apparently, I get sick too much, and even though I have doctor's notes or am visibly ill, it doesn't seem to matter. I'm going to try to do better, be healthier, use more hand sanitizer, and I bought some Emergen-C stuff to mix with bottles of water. This was after talking to the Pharmacist at Wal-Greens to see if he could recommend anything to boost my immune system and he literally had no suggestions.

It went a little something like this:

"Mr. Pharmacist man. I work in a daycare, have worked there for almost a year now. They say the first year is the worst, but it hasn't gotten any better. I catch everything those kids throw at me. I get sick more than anyone else there, it seems, and it's almost becoming a joke. I'm already taking a multi-vitamin, I take an Echinacea capsule for immune support, I drink a lot of orange juice, I get lots of rest... (on and on). Is there anything at all that I could do to help me get sick less?"

He shakes his head. "Nope, sorry. You're doing everything right. I could just suggest washing your hands a lot, which I'm sure you're already doing."

Seriously?!

If I don't turn a corner soon, I might have to look into a different line of work. Namely something involving solitary confinement.
