130/365 - happy early birthday, todd! :-D
May 10, 2011
Tonight, after Adrienne and I went skating downtown and we were riding home, Sylvia called me basically asking if Todd would like to finally (after years of us saving up and then something bad happening to eat our TV savings) have a TV for his birthday, even though his birthday isn't until next month. ;)
It's GREAT!

110/365 - the office/studio
![]() |

Finally cleaned the office. This is where Jerry will be staying when he's with us. This used to be the "catch all" room so it was totally crazy junky because I never really went in there unless I needed to put something out of site. How sad, considering this is also supposed to be my "studio".... sadness.

77-80/365 - this & that.
March 18, 2011
After working all day and then driving all night to get to my parent's house, this was pretty much the only picture I had the energy to take. The tiny little touch lamp over the head of Jerry's Spongebob Squarepants bed. Le yawn. Goodnight.

I took this Saturday during our photo shoot with a cute little boy. ;) I should've posted one of the outtakes from that shoot, but I'm pretty much in love with this photo.

(If you think really hard about my photos and where I am on certain days you might figure out that I sometimes may cheat. Please don't think too hard.)

60-64/365 - KETCHUP.
March 1, 2011
Hehe.
March 2, 2011
I'm so sorry these pictures are sucking. I keep forgetting to take them until I'm in bed, and then all I have is my cellphone and a boring bedroom because I'm too tired to get out of bed.

After my first (real) roller derby practice, I had this weird, red blood-like blister instead of the normal white ones. Weird. I also fell on my last lap of the night (after 2 hours of skating and exercises and working out) and ended up falling wrong and my legs/knees went splayed beneath me, hurting my hips and my left knee. Owch.

With that being said, I feel so bad that things like this happen and our landlords have to come fix it. They are so, so good about being there when things go wrong with the house (washing machine giving out, ceiling fan motor burning out, the roof leaking into the house, the kitchen sink not having any water pressure because of corroded pipes or something, etc), so we see a lot of our landlords, more so than I've ever seen of any landlord in the past (considering none of our landlords ever came around, Ever, for anything). Funny thing is, they are unlike most landlords, and are extremely nice & understanding and I don't mind having them around at all.
But I can honestly say I love living in this house, despite it's age and quirks (or faults, whichever you prefer). It's tiny, but it's brought us closer. It's taught me how to be a bit more organized, how to consolidate my belongings, and get rid of things I don't need.
It's also taught me how to sit sideways on the toilet so I don't fall into a deep, dark abyss, or portal to the underworld... that just happens to be in a vital part of my bathroom.
The happy ending to this story is they are thinking about hiring an outside contractor to come in and re-do the entire bathroom! I am praying SO hard that they decide to put in a bathtub! A pretty, cheap, fiberglass shower/bathtub combo so I can get home from work and relax in a bubble bath just like I used to.
God, I miss having a bathtub.

I wasn't even sure if this was a peace lily at all, or even how to take care of it. I've basically just kept it near a window and made sure the soil never got completely dried out, giving it a good shower in the sink every now and then. I try to pick off the dead leaves and stems, which I read somewhere is called "dead-heading" and helps keep your plant healthy, because the plant doesn't have to do all that extra work trying to keep dead leaves alive. Makes sense. Kind of like cutting off an appendage that doesn't work. ;) No need to have blood going to it, right?
Right. Anyway. Where was I?
Googling Peace Lilys, so I can make sure to keep this one alive. I want more house plants.

I also hung up one of Todd's pictures that had been sitting on the floor for months, meaning to go in this very spot. It's just so hard to put a nail in a wall sometimes...

I've been having a bit more fun with my 365 project this time around. Granted almost all of my photos have been taken inside the house thus far... I need to get out more. I took my camera to the daycare today to get some shots but just stayed too busy doing art stuff with the kids. My room is a mess and it's driving me crazy. I still haven't done a board for January! It's killing me.
I might just get started early on Valentine' decor. That'll be fun. Oh yeah. It's almost my 1 year anniversary at the daycare!

7/365 - New Curtains.... kinda.

| January 7, 2011 |
If you saw my photo from this day then you may have noticed the clusterfuck of mess on my counter, including a curtain rod. When we moved in this past summer, I bought a curtain set. It was supposed to go on one window (like a top and bottom kind of thing), but my windows were small so I decided I would just split them up. I got 2 rods, but one was too short for this window! I swear both windows looked the same width. This house is wonky. It took me months to find the right size rod. Literally. So this poor curtain has been through hell being shuffled around the house waiting to be put up. Am I the only person that does this? Anyway, it finally had it's moment and it's up. Kind of covers up the cool light effect that I used to get in the kitchen from the sun pouring through my wine bottles.
Oh well. I've been meaning to hang those bottles on my apple tree out back. I'm sure once that's finished I'll be posting pictures. :) Maybe in the spring or summer.
